Everything about 1960s - Popular Fashion Trends!

"I love anything thats vintagey, retro inspired, antique-looking and classic-ish!" - Irene Octoviani Tan

Omg! I am so excited about OMY.SG - Singapore Blog Awards 2013 event that's happening right now.
I become even more excited when I found out that I am nominated in 4 categories this year.
I become much more, extremely, hyper excited when I found out that this year's theme is all about 1960s, my favorite era! =D
Since I was young, I love collecting anything that I find it old antique-looking and interesting.
In addition, I love playing dress up as a historical figure too!
Nah! Here's some makeup tutorials or look that I have ever tried and experienced on several occasions;

My version of my favorite figure, Audrey Hepburn inspired look

and not to forget the sexy Marilyn Monroe inspired look!
Yes, I have her signature red lips and mole on me! Yay! =D

I went to google about 1960s fashion and these are what I found;

"Mary Quant invented the mini-skirt, and Jackie Kennedy introduced the pillbox hat, both becoming extremely popular.

False eyelashes were worn by women throughout the 1960s, and their hairstyles were a variety of lengths and styles.
While focusing on colors and tones, accessories were less of an importance during the sixties.
People were dressing in psychedelic prints, highlighter colors, and mismatched patterns.

The hippie movement late in the decade also exerted a strong influence on ladies' clothing styles,
including bell-bottom jeans, tie-dye, and batik fabrics, as well as paisley prints."

The late 1960s produced a style categorized of people who promoted sexual liberation and favored a type of politics reflecting "peace, love and freedom".
Ponchos, moccasins, love beads, peace signs, medallion necklaces, chain belts,
polka dot-printed fabrics, and long, puffed "bubble" sleeves were additional trends in the late 1960s.

The celebrity obsession with shades began in the 1960s when British designer Charles Goldsmith
put names like Audrey Hepburn into his designer sunglasses.

That's not all! I am hooked and addicted to the latest 60s fashion trends.
Prints, strips, polkadots, paisley and batik were very popular not only back then, but also now!
Yeap, the 1960's fashion trend is back! In fact, 60s style apparel is everywhere and that's a bad news.
See this picture below! Omg! those are what I have been collecting so far;

I love dress, top or bottom that come in interesting printz on it and I just couldn't resist it when I see them.
My brain told me that I have to take them home with me or I will regret. Alright, that's a very lame excuse LOL!

I know right! I am diagnosed with compulise shopping disorder problem! Haha! Whatever!
Now, here's a showcase of my 60's inspired OOTD;

As shown, I have a lot of apparel with polka-dots, strips, paisley print and other 60's inspired design!
I love love love printed apparels. I find them unique, interesting and eye-catching.
What do you think? Are you a printed apparels fans too? If yes, you must be an awesome person, like me!
